PostSubject: Number's tournament   Wed Mar 28, 2012 4:10 am

tbh, not to complain here ^^", but I've been kinda waiting since like the middle of yussef's tourny to put this up which was like maybe over a month ago, so I'ma put this up now so that I have a spot in line. Basically, it goes like this:

-Each person will sign up with a "Number" card of their choice.

-No 2 people can have the same "Number" card.

-You must make a deck revolving around getting out your specified "Number" card.

-Each time you win a duel, you MUST put the person's "Number" card into your extra deck to show you have won against them. If you win against someone with multiple "Number" cards in their extra deck, you must take all of them so that there will not be any "Number" cards in the tourney with no owner.

-It will basically be free-for-all in the sense that you can pick whoever you want to vs, but if you have dueled once, you must wait for everyone else to finish their first duels until you can duel your second duel.

You CANNOT have any other card in your extra deck besides the "Number" card you have chosen originally, and the "Number" cards you have won.

-You may choose any "Number" card, as long as no one else has picked it.

-This will be a 16 person tourney.

-The decks that are not allowed are the usual burn, stall, exodia, OTK, FTK, etc., ... (basically all the ones that are normally banned)

-Your deck doesn't need a theme if you don't want it to, but if you wanna have a theme, go for it.

-We will go by the rule that only "Number" cards can destroy other "Number" cards by battle. So basically, your "Number" is your greatest offense, so if it's weak, get cards into the deck to make it stronger or to abuse the eff's in a way that you can deal damage. (example: If you have Galaxy queen, use cards like block attack to make your opponent's monsters into def, then Galaxy's effect to deliver piercing, then beat on the monsters for piercing battle damage)

Edit: -the duels will be 4000 lp per person and match duels (forgot to put that derp)

Depending on when this tournament starts, I might plan on changing what number I'll use.

I think it will start the day after the spots are filled to give everyone a chance to look at the challonge, but I will make it so that the tournament will continue moving and that there will be a winner. For advance, not that once the tourney starts, you will only have 5 days to duel your opponent and confirm your win. I think that should be plenty of time though, so go right ahead and procrastinate it until the last day Razz But I shall duel on the first to get it over with.

I don't think Number C39 counts.

Number 96: Black Mist, please.

Half way there, and yussef, the chaos numbers do not count in this tourney as a "Number" card because it's just an upgrade of an already existing "Number" card. There are plenty of others you can pick from, please pick another "Number".

Can your deck have more then 1 copy of a number?
Is editing between match allowed?
And is a side deck allowed?

hmm, let's see if I can answer that,

1. if it's your original "Number", or a "Number" you won, yes.

2. yes, you may edit the deck, as long as you keep your "Number"'s cards that you own so far inside of the deck.

3. Yes, a side deck is allowed with anything you want inside of it except extra deck cards.

Question, if I include swords of revealing light in my deck, does that instantly make me a stall?

No, a stall goes for over 5 turns.

Does falcon and swords count as a stall then, or a lock?

I'll join in then Very Happy (If i still can) I wish to claim Number 30: Acid golem of destruction

However, i am having a quick issue with not having an OTK deck, as we are at 4000Lp and Golem has 3000 attack, i can quite quickly wipe out the life

Hawk, i understand your pain, but it's possible. Just make it slow enough to get acid golem out and not die lol

Wynn, what falcon?

Charm, i'll join if i can confirm that Atlanthal and Machu Mac are on DN, so my answer will come tonight.

The combo itself would be cheap and considered a stall, but it can be countered so... i dunno.

pretty sure it counts as a stall if you keep using that same move over and over. If you do, your opponent cannot attack, so that's the part where it's counted as a lock, but if you do that and use it to keep your opponent from attacking for long periods of time, it's a stall. (i.e. your opponent has a monster with say 3000 atk, and a spirit reaper on their field. Constantly slapping that spirit reaper and returning swords to your hand and playing it again is stalling.) So, sry, but I'll call it a stall.
